Beauty for Ashes

The Legacy of TFC

“WHY DO WE HAVE a college like Toccoa Falls College?” Dr. Forrest posed this question to the group gathered for Thanksgiving in 1941. His delivery was simple and unchanging throughout the years. God had given him a vision—one that he never strayed from and which today is a reality through the work and devotion of all who serve at Toccoa Falls College. Dr. Forrest believed that for every person who wanted to be “trained for service” in the kingdom of God, there was a way. Perhaps this tenacious commitment to help so many who did not have the money to go to school was the reason that the college struggled financially. From the world’s perspective it would seem so, but from a heavenly perspective, there has never been a deed more worthy.

The future of Toccoa Falls College rests with God. However, the responsibility for its keeping belongs to all of those who have come and gone in the name of Jesus Christ. May God continue to lead and guide His servants as they look to Him for wisdom for future growth. And may Toccoa Falls College always represent an uncompromising desire to glorify and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. (Proverbs 4:11-13)
