Ask And Receive ON ONE OCCASION, Richard and I left Toccoa immediately following his Sunday morning sermon. We needed to be in Asheville, North Carolina, which was 135 miles away, before Monday evening when I was scheduled to teach a Bible study. At that time, the roads were unpaved and on this particular occasion heavy rains made travel almost impossible. While we made it to Tallulah Falls without incident, our car became stuck in what seemed to be knee-deep mud just before we crossed the river bridge. There was no way to budge it. Unfortunately, we had to spend the

If These Walls Could Talk EARLY ONE MORNING in 1913, Dr. Forrest left Staley Cottage and with an ax and a brush hook cleared a place for a new dining room. After clearing the site, he and the Toccoa Falls Institute family marched around the site singing and giving praise and claiming this site for God. The dining room was built in 1916. Praying for the Impossible GOD LOVES TO HEAR His children pray for what seems impossible. His invitation is to ask Him to do what no one else can do. Yet, we rarely make that request. Someone once said, “We have lost the eternal youthfulness of Christianity and have aged into calculated adulthood.” The truth is we seldom pray a limitless, glorious prayer of faith. We also fail to pray with real confidence for any good that seems unattainable. And yet, we suppose ourselves to believe in an infinite Father. Today, whatever your need, know that God has an answer. Just

Where Character Is Developed With Intellect THE APOSTLE PAUL was not illiterate. He was a highly educated man, able to stand up in debate against the cultured men of Greece. But the Apostle Paul was conscious that he knew “only in part.” While our graduates have completed the course of study prescribed at Toccoa Falls, vast worlds of knowledge are yet to be acquired. Our school slogan is, “Where Character Is Developed With Intellect,” and we have tried to instruct by precept and example. We sincerely believe that to know Christ is superior to any other knowledge, and I would
